After agreeing to join the Loki Familia, instead of going back to the Twilight Manor and confirming the blessing right away, Loki dragged Light to the table with the rest of her Familia, drawing questioning gnces upon arrival. Most simply assumed she was another girl who had caught Loki’s eye and that their Goddess was pnning to take her back for the night.
In a way, they were not wrong. However, when Loki announced that Light would be joining their Familia, the three senior members, Finn, Gareth, and Riveria, examined her closely. Ais, Tiona, and Lefiya welcomed her wholeheartedly. In Ais’ case, that meant a small smile and a few curt words. Lefiya took a more formal approach, while Tiona immediately grabbed Light and pulled her into an embrace.
As for Bete and Tione, Tione did not care too much. So what if they were getting another member? Seemed to her attitude. As for Bete, on the other hand, immediately questioned what level Light was at. After hearing that she was currently unblessed, he threw out a few insulting words and lost interest.
To the surprise of most at the table, Light did not seem to care about Bete calling her a weakling or cannon fodder. Some likely assumed she was a pushover, much like Lefiya in that regard. However, the truth was something they could not imagine.
Light knew that Bete’s rough attitude was all a fa?ade. In anime terms, he had a severe case of being a tsundere. Unfortunately for him, he was also suffering from trauma and an inferiority complex regarding his own strength.
Although that did not excuse his words, it at least made them easier to swallow. Additionally, Light knew that everything he was saying was currently correct.
She believed that everyone had to pay their dues before gaining the right to act with a certain amount of arrogance. For example, if a new employee walked into a company and acted like the CEO, they would not be welcomed. Her current situation was simir. She had to earn the right to sit at the top of the table. For now, all she could do was remain humble and prove herself through results.
With extroverts like Tiona and Loki leading the conversation, it did not take long for Light to be integrated into their small party.
However, that did not mean she would get to keep this privilege. If even people like Raul Nord and Anakitty, the leaders of the Loki Familia’s second-string team, were not invited to such gatherings, the chances of her being invited again were slim.
In a sense, Lefiya was special in that regard. She was a level three sitting at a table full of level fives and sixes. If not for her unique skill, Fairy Cannon, which doubled her attack magic output and gave her the damage potential of a level six, she too would not have been able to sit among those present.
Predictably, with a group of people as close as real family, it did not take long for Light’s inclusion to become a nonfactor. As they resumed their conversation about the dungeon and their pns for the upcoming expedition, Light essentially became a spare part. She merely sat to the side, but at least the drinks were free, so she was content.
Hours passed, and finally, under Finn’s recommendation, they decided to call it a night. Fortunately, Loki was not too wasted, meaning she could give Light her blessing before the day ended.
"Come on, take off your top," Loki decred openly with a slight slur, a sign that she was not completely sober.
They had entered the Twilight Manor with the rest of the group, but while everyone else went back to their own rooms, Loki had all but dragged Light towards her bedroom. The moment the door opened, she spoke.
Knowing it was part of the process, Light did not hesitate to remove her top, revealing a bck, cy bra against her fwless skin. Noticing the underwear, Light could not help but frown.
Expensive-looking modern lingerie beneath cheap, medieval-inspired outer clothing. Was I reincarnated by a pervert?
Dropping her top to the floor, Light missed the moment Loki came to a standstill behind her. She also failed to notice the literal gulp as the Goddess of Mischief took in the sight before her.
If someone had told Loki that Light was a newly created Goddess of Beauty, in this moment, she would have believed them without question.
Noticing the silence, Light turned her head suggestively to gnce at the other woman.
"Do I need to take this off too?" She asked with her eyes falling on her bra.
Loki awkwardly coughed, recollecting herself and failing to hide a slight blush.
"I think it will be fine."
Afterwards, Light y down on the bed in the middle of the room. Loki, who had snapped out of her shock, quickly moved over with a spring in her step. Although she could have sat at the side of the bed, she took full advantage of the situation and climbed on top of Light’s back, pressing her thighs against either side of Light’s ribs.
Feeling the weight on her back, Light chuckled and shook her head. She thought the title Goddess of Mischief was certainly fitting.
Without further ado, Loki grabbed a pin from her bedside table, seemingly prepared for this exact situation, and pierced her finger. A drop of blood fell onto Light’s bare back, creating a blinding golden glow. Amidst the radiant light, bck text began taking shape. At the top, between Light’s shoulder bdes, the image of a jester mid-curtsy formed.
"What the? How is this possible?"
Once the light dimmed, revealing Light’s status on her back, Loki could not help but softly excim in disbelief.
Sitting at the bottom of Light’s back, in the skills and magic section of her status, were three skills she would recognise anywhere.
Ariel, a skill only Ais should have.
Avenger, another skill she had only seen Ais possess.
And finally, Fairy Cannon, a skill Loki believed to be exclusive to Lefiya.
Light had obviously obtained the first two skills the moment Loki’s blood touched her back, marking her official entry into the Loki Familia. However, the st skill was an unexpected gain.
Twilight Manor was an important location within the main plot of this world. As the headquarters of the main heroine, it was naturally a sign-in location.
The moment Light had stepped through the gates leading to the manor, she had unknowingly completed a quest and received a cheat-like skill owned by the protagonist of the spin-off series Sword Oratoria.
Light had no idea what Loki was seeing on her back at that moment. She did not even know if the innate skills unlocked by the system could be read by Falna.
Loki suppressed the burning questions rising in her mind and stepped off Light’s back, her drunkenness seemingly vanishing from the shock. All things considered, it was a good thing that her new child was so gifted.
However, someone with Loki’s mind refused to believe that a girl turning up with the skills of her two most talented children could be a mere coincidence. The only problem was that she had no idea how such a thing was possible.
Light had not even been sitting next to Ais or Lefiya throughout dinner and drinks. She had been closest to Loki herself and Tiona. If Light had done something suspicious, Loki would have noticed immediately.
Hiding her confusion, Loki retrieved a brown piece of parchment from her bedside drawer and copied Light’s status onto it by tracing her finger across both the paper and Light’s back.
She watched intently as Light viewed her own status and noticed the slight look of relief that crossed her face. She couldn’t help but notice Light’s gaze immediately nding on the skill section, as if she was looking for something.
Relief. Not joy.
Why would she be relieved?

Holding her status in her hands, Light was pleased to see that her innate skills had not appeared on the page. However, as she read through it for what felt like the hundredth time, her mind drifted back to Loki’s subtle shift in attitude.
"Awakening with two innate skills and one magic, you must be some sort of prodigy."
Although Loki sounded proud on the surface, the probing undertone did not go unnoticed.
"Did you know about these skills beforehand?"
Most people unlocked their skills and magic through Falna, but it was not unheard of for individuals to possess abilities tied to their bloodline or awaken them naturally.
Knowing she could not lie, Light picked her words carefully.
"I have never used any of them before, so I must have unlocked them recently."
"I see."
Pcing her status sheet on the bedside table, Light gnced around the room she had been assigned. All things considered, she could not ask for more. Not only was it a private space, but it was fully furnished, and she did not need to pay rent.
It was also surprisingly luxurious. Obviously, the Loki Familia would not cut corners when it came to their own headquarters, so even a dorm room for a new member was vish.
Light immediately understood why Loki had put her guard up.
Someone just walks into her Familia with the same skills as her golden children. Obviously, she would be suspicious.
Fortunately, her answer had been convincing enough, and she had escaped the situation for now.
Closing her eyes, Light summoned her domain around her hand. Imagining the Cold Weapon Redemption Card appearing in her grasp, she immediately felt a solid, bronze card with a sword and shield engraved on the front take form.
"Whoa."
Surprisingly, the card had some weight to it. Expecting something akin to a pying card, she was caught off guard by the sudden downward force.
"Now, what weapon should I go with? My first thought is a bow, but if I want to maximise all my stats per level, that would make strength troublesome. A spear is said to be the easiest, or at least, that is what they say in movies. A sword? Versatile and the typical go-to in any fantasy story."
Light strolled around her spacious room, pying with the bronze card while contempting her weapon of choice. Eventually, she closed her eyes and pictured the weapon she wanted.
The moment she did, the bronze card was enveloped in golden particles, transforming with each passing second.
Within moments, the card was gone. Now resting in Light’s closed fist was the hilt of a longsword. Although the weapon looked unremarkable, its pink hilt and iron bde at least seemed sturdy. It was not something that would break easily.
After considering her options, Light had chosen a sword for one reason. It was the most common weapon across fiction.
The system seemed to grant skills from fictional characters, so if she had picked something less conventional, like cws or throwing knives, the chances of obtaining a compatible skill would have been nearly impossible.
Additionally, it allowed her to develop all stats evenly.
