Chapter 9: Changes and Additions
Although under Luosiqi's insistence she and Tang Xiaoxia lived in two rooms, and when Luosiqi found out that the Wu family had one room for every four people, she felt it was a bit luxurious. However, since men and women should not be too close, even if she now thought Tang Xiaoxia was very close to her, it was still impossible for them to live in the same room! Moreover, there was only one bed in each room.
Luosiqi was very curious why the four people in Wu's house only opened one room. This bed can sleep at most two people, and they are all so strong, how can they squeeze onto one bed?
Luosi didn't believe they were doing it to save money, but she didn't have the energy to investigate the detailed reasons either. After resting in her room for a while, she couldn't help but go out and push Tang Xiaoxia's door open. She wanted to ask Tang Xiaoxia which nerve was wrong with him, why he wanted to live in the same room as her.
Tang Xiaoxia's door was not locked, she went in and closed the door, seeing Tang Xiaoxia sitting on the bed staring blankly, his Lingyun sword placed at the head of the bed. Actually, Luosi Qi also brought her Pi Xue sword, although she almost never used it, but she thought having a sword was always better than not having one, in case of danger when she really couldn't use it, she could still use it as a stick to fend off a few times.
Tang Xiaoxia stopped staring off into space as soon as she came in, and naturally shifted over to make room for her to sit down, as if the two of them were already close enough that they didn't need to ask.
In modern times, Luosi would never easily sit next to a boy she had just met for less than two days.
However, this time Luosiqi sat down without any resistance. She felt that she had not violated her previous principles, but the situation was special and unavoidable.
She asked Tang Xiaoxia: "Tang Xiaoxia, what did you mean just now?"
Tang Xiaoxia smiled wryly and said to her: "Don't ask anymore, just pretend I didn't say anything at the time, okay?"
Luosi Qi was not a girl who would cause trouble, but she didn't want to let it go just like that either.
Just as Luosi was about to say something, Tang Xiaoxia suddenly made a "shh" gesture and went to the door to listen, then came back and said: "Be careful, there may be ears on the other side of the wall, let's keep our voices down."
Tang Xiaoxia's actions surprised Luosi Qi, she looked at him suspiciously, seeing his determined gaze, and could only ask softly: "What's wrong?"
Tang Xiaoxia scratched her head and said softly: "I don't know why, but I always feel that our current situation is not quite right!"
"What's wrong? There are over a dozen people from the Wu family and our colleagues, we don't have to worry about food, shelter or finding our way, besides, we should still be far from Chu Du, what could possibly go wrong?" Luo Siqi felt that Tang Xiaoxia's feeling was strange, so she asked him.
Tang Xiaoxia's answer almost made Luosiqi reach out to hit him, because his answer was just: "Not good, not good, it's just not good. We should immediately pack up our luggage and money and leave here at once."
Luosi wanted to put her small hand on Tang Xiaoxia's forehead and ask if he had a fever, or if he was suffering from some kind of delusional disorder due to being in an unfamiliar environment!
Just then, a group of uninvited guests arrived at the inn downstairs, and it was a large group! Luosi heard the noise and wanted to go out and take a look, but was hastily pulled back by Tang Xiaoxia. The two of them opened the door slightly and carefully looked downstairs.
They saw the inn owner rush out in a panic, and when they saw the leader, they became even more flustered. He repeatedly bowed to the man dressed in military uniform: "Lord City Guard, why have you come personally? With such a big fanfare, who are you going to catch?"
That city guard didn't even give him a glance, directing the soldiers to seal off the passageway from the entrance to the stairs, and directly led people upstairs.
Luosi and Tang Xiaxia didn't know who these people were going to catch, but they quickly closed the door anyway, thinking that it's better to have one less trouble.
Just then, the next room suddenly started banging away. Luosiqi lived to the right of Tang Xiaoxia's house, and the several rooms on the left were where the Wu family of over a dozen people lived, and the sound was coming from the left.
Two people can hear that Wu's family and the city guard, Kang Cheng, are fighting fiercely, with sounds of things being knocked over and a vase shattering on the ground!
"What to do? What to do?" Luosi looked at Tang Xiaoxia, and found that Tang Xiaoxia's expression changed drastically, as if she was thinking of a solution. Tang Xiaoxia suddenly said to her: "You also know the abilities of the two of us, even if we rush over together, we will definitely not be able to beat so many people. If we rashly rush over, not only can't we help, but we may also cause trouble for others. Let's just stay put and wait and see!"
Luosi felt it was bad to just stand by and watch, but in the days she spent practicing swordplay in Xueyun Valley, she wasn't as diligent as Tang Xiaoyu. Instead, she often summoned water to freeze into ice for fun.
She had no choice but to agree with Tang Xiaoxia, but she still felt a little uneasy in her heart. After all, the people of the Wu family, although they basically had nothing to do with her, were now considered to be on the same side as her!
She glanced at the Snow Sword in her hand, stood up, but sat back down again.
The noise outside grew louder, and it sounded like the fight had already reached downstairs. However, it slowly came to a stop. Luosi heard the sound of people being taken away from downstairs, and it seemed that one of Wu's family members had escaped, causing others to chase after him. It wasn't until the only sounds left were the innkeeper's complaints and the servants cleaning up the tables and chairs that Luosi saw Tang Xiaoming open the door.
Tang Xiaoxia soon returned and told Luosi Qi, "The inn owner said that the people who came were the city guards of Kangcheng City, who had come to arrest the Wu family. They injured and caught a dozen or so people, but no one died, and one person escaped. From his description, it seems to be Wu Xie!"
Luosi didn't expect that they would encounter an unexpected event as soon as they came out. Not only did the leader, Wu Xi, escape with an uncertain life or death, but the rest of the Wu family members who came with her were also caught one after another. Now, only she and Tang Xiaoxia are left, in a strange land, how can they go to Chu Du to rescue people?
Fortunately, Tang Xiaoxia was there. He quickly helped Luosiqi react and took the lead in pulling her out of the room. "No matter what," he said, "this place is not suitable for a long stay. Take your luggage and let's hurry to change places!"
Fortunately, the two of them rushed out in a hurry, and except for the money bag and the sword in their hands, they didn't bring anything else. They hastily and carefully left the inn again. The shopkeeper saw that they were all trembling with fear and didn't dare to stop them. Under Tang Xiaoxia's leadership, Luosiqi found a small and secluded inn, which didn't even have a name, only one floor, and a small sign that could be seen as an inn. Tang Xiaoxia paid two silver coins for the room fee and only asked for one room.
When Luosiqi opened a room, she only had time to say one word: "This—" before being interrupted by Tang Xiaoxia's sentence: "Two people together safely!" and was left speechless.
The whole process Luosiqi did not raise any objections until they entered the room, and then she asked Tang Xiaoxia how two people could live in one room.
Tang Xiaoxia unexpectedly pointed at the wooden table in the room and said to Luosi Qi, "I'll sleep on the table, you sleep on the bed!"
It makes sense, Luosi thought that perhaps Tang Xiaoxia's suggestion to share a room at the Yongning Inn was based on this idea, and she couldn't help but feel slightly reassured. Although she still couldn't guarantee that Tang Xiaoxia wouldn't sneak into her bed while she was asleep, in this crisis where they only knew each other vaguely, she felt that she could still trust Tang Xiaoxia. If he had the leisure to think of other things at a time full of unknowns and danger, then he really wasn't a decent person!
Luo Xi lay on the bed and let out a slight sigh of relief. She saw Tang Xiaoxia sitting at the desk, resting her head on it, and felt a bit unbearable, but couldn't bring herself to suggest that he come to the bed instead. So she turned her head towards him, looking at him, thinking: "He's only seventeen after all, and I don't have any good ideas either. What should we do next? We'll still have to rely on him!"
The shopkeeper brought over two large bowls of rice and several dishes after a while, and Luosiqi was indeed a bit hungry. She sat down at the table and saw Tang Xiaoxia staring at the food for a long time without moving, and couldn't help but urge: "What are you looking at? Eat quickly!"
She saw Tang Xiaoxia waving at her and saying: "Wait a minute, I still have something that doesn't make sense."
