One second I'm watering my Venus fly trap and the next I'm shooting through the void at a terrifying speed.
Well that's rather worrying...
I'm scared.
BAAAAAAAAM!
Now I'm dizzy.
Turning my attention to myself I can feel sap seeping from cuts and tears. Panicking my new body automatically responds, contracting the area around the wounds tightly. Large fan leaves wrapping around the openings and damaged limbs. Stemming the bleeding.
Oh.
That's new.
I'm literally a plant now.
That actually makes me kind of happy.
In my strangely calm state I turn my attention to my surroundings. Clear void as far as the eye or rather leaf can peer. Although a sparkling sea of stars loam in the distance. Half of a root clings to a small opening in-between two metal sheets.
If I was still a human there's no doubt I would be dead. Having lost my upper body and half my lower. Nor could I have wedged a foot into this incredibly tiny opening that's basically keeping me from floating off into nowhere.
The nearby sun scorches me, as well the void of space makes me feel like I'm suffocating.
From my experience gardening; I know I only have a short time to get into a more plant friendly place. I've seen tough as nails plants do just well getting cut in half, burned alive, smushed, etc. But give them the wrong humidity, soil, or air and they'll just quit living.
These leaves will get in the way if I try to sliver into this hole so I Very Tightly wrap them around the slim snake like trunk I have left and wriggle my root. Inching myself into opening second by second.
The further I squirm into the ship the less the burning sun hits me and the more a strange tingle spreads across my new mean green body.
Finally I pop through the apple sized hole.
"Warning breach detected! All nearby personnel suit up." A loud siren rings in my ears? The robotic voice continues "Vents locking, Bulkhead doors instated, Deep puncture, Approximate time for repair 3 days."
Although the sun isn't so bad in here I still seem to be suffocating.
I look around, hoping to find some way into the rest of the ship.
The room is a squat one, with pipes going every which way. Although through a thick window I can see back out into the void I was in only a moment ago. Shutters coming down as I look through the window.
What I presume to be vents close as I turn my attention to them. And with them any chance of survival. No way about it now. The only place left to go is the hole that I just squirmed through.
As the tingle finally spreads to the rest of my consciousness my vision blurs and then blackens. I slacken against the floor.
My mind and vision dim and then begin to die out.
But as I slump against the floor, a door opens. Immediately and violently air whooshes in, giving me just as violent of a head rush as my stems absorb much needed elements.
A trio of suited humans stepping into the room with thuds. One immediately placing a odd device onto the hole. Whirring and clicking as it plugs the hole.
"Captain, patch completed. Moving to start repairs. But we have the object right here. Appears to be a organism. Orders?"
I lay limp, not hearing a peep from them. Hoping they don't decide to murder me.
"Get it in a quarantine pod and ship it to the experimental bio labs."
